Many actors want the opportunity to ask questions and spend time with casting professionals so they can get an idea of what is expected. Breaking down the audition process by focusing on the scene is vital. This workshop is about working scripts, knowing what questions to ask, helping the actor find out who they are, and about being able to understand their character.

We will be spending time working Film and Television scripts while including the element of improv allowing the actor exploration beyond the words on the page.

The purpose of the workshop is to build confidence in making choices and realizing that will come with stepping away from what feels safe and relying on one’s individual unique strengths.

“BE A BETTER VOICE TALENT – IMPROV AND AUDITION SKILLS FOR VOICE ACTORS” –

Barry will be teaching some really useful improv skills like how to think about characters, being a better listener, and not staying in your head all the time. Also different ways to use your voice, but also how to use your body, and also what to do when directors change everything on you.

You’ll gain confidence, lots of new skills….Also interactive games. You’ll also know more about what to do at auditions AND in the voice booth. 

Regina will give you insight into what casting agents are looking for, and how to do your best  when doing an audition.  Knowing what casting agents want can give you a real leg up on landing a voice over job.  She will be putting you an audition setting while critiquing your performance.

Scene Discovery Workshop with Casting Director, Regina Moore
6 Week Scene Discovery Session 2025

DATES: Tuesdays – August 25th, September 1st, 8th, 15th, 19th and 22nd.

Actors want to be confident in their abilities from the moment they are given a script. They want to experience the process of preparing and developing the choices that will be taped at the audition. All actors want to discover what type of characters they are best suited for, how to handle cold reads and become comfortable with what is thrown at them in any situation. That is what we will be discovering in this workshop and more.
Actors must take ownership in deciding the types of characters (Scripts, Subjects, etc…) they want to portray and the projects they want to be associated with, as well as guiding their image with no regrets.  We also write a scene and shoot it for the actor’s reel.

NOTE TO ACTOR: In this 6-week session we will also write and produce a scene (two actors will be paired together); directed by Regina Moore, that can be used for their actor’s reel, actors access, etc. Specifically designed for the actor and what they need for their reel. We will show the actors how to accomplish this by shooting on a phone. It is important to give actors as many tools as possible to accomplish their goals and teaching them to create gives them more control on what they have to show possible clients on their profile/s.

This Scene Discovery Workshop will allow actors to learn in a nurturing, yet challenging atmosphere and walk away confident they have a better understanding of directing their career path.
